About Us
The steepest vineyard in South Tyrol which is accessible by vehicles.
The vineyard is located in the middle of a coniferous and deciduous forest on the mountain of Marlengo. From 550 meters above sea level you have a wonderful panoramic view of the city Merano. In 2007, we started with viticulture, accompanied by the idea of natural, organic and sustainable cultivation that is gentle on the soil.
The soil is rocky and composed of loam. We planted the two typical PIWI varieties, Bronner and Solaris. These grape varieties are fungus-resistant and are very suitable for the support of natural cultivation. The combination of limited solar radiation and the ventilation of the vines through the mild morning up winds and the falling winds that follow in the evening gives the grapes a special character.
Our Field
Our grain field was created as part of the project BROTWEG, a research project on the cultivation of cereals in mountain areas.
Here, too, we focus on sustainability, whereby nature should be damaged as little as possible.

The Sparkling Wine

The STEIL sparkling wine is a cuvée of the grape varieties Bronner and Solaris. Each year over 12,000 bottles are filled.
Our sparkling wine is characterized by a tangy and light note. Sparkling, with fine aromas, it is reminiscent of peach, pineapple and lemon. It is ideal for an aperitif and starters.
